Big Brothers Big Sisters of London and Area 50/50 Official Rules of Play (Ontario Raffle)

1.    GENERAL

The Big Brothers Big Sisters of London and Area 50/50 Raffle (the "Raffle") allows Ontarians to participate in a fundraising initiative that supports life-changing 1:1 mentorship opportunities for children and youth who need it most. The Raffle is open only to persons who are located in the Province of Ontario at the time of entry and who are eighteen (18) years of age or older. The Raffle is operated through an electronic system for the purchase of tickets and for generating, tracking, storing, and reporting on numbers associated with purchased tickets (the "System") and operated and maintained by a third-party vendor ("Raffle Box" or “System Provider”). By participating in the Raffle, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and by the decisions of Big Brothers Big Sisters of London and Area which shall be binding and final as to all matters related to the Raffle. The Raffle is subject to all applicable federal, provincial, and local laws and is void where prohibited. 

2.    JACKPOT & DRAWS

The "Jackpot" for the Raffle shall be the total proceeds from Raffle tickets sold during the time period for the Raffle ("Raffle Tickets"). The amount of the Jackpot will be tracked by the System, and the amount will be regularly updated and publicly posted online at https://www.rafflebox.ca/raffle/bb-bs-london (the "Website"). There will be one 50/50 prize draw held in accordance with the draw period(s) set out in Section 5 below (the "Lottery Schedule"). There will be one winner for the 50/50 Draw. Tickets will only be valid for the Raffle Period indicated on the ticket and will not be valid for any other Raffle Period.

3.    50-50 PRIZE AND ALLOCATION OF PROCEEDS. 

The Winner of the 50/50 Draw will receive a cash prize equal to fifty percent (50%) of the final Jackpot amount for the 50/50 Draw. The net funds (after expenses) will be used by Big Brothers Big Sisters of London and Area to support providing youth with life changing 1:1 mentorship opportunities.

4.    ELIGIBILITY 

The Raffle is open only to persons who are located in the Province of Ontario at the time of entry and who are eighteen (18) years of age or older and otherwise meet the conditions specified in these Official Rules.

The following individuals shall be ineligible to win a Prize: 

Any Big Brothers Big Sisters of London and Area staff member directly involved in or responsible for selecting the Winning Number (Executive Director, Manager, Finance and Administration)

5.    RAFFLE SCHEDULE

The 50/50 final draw will take place at Big Brothers Big Sisters of London and Area, 415 Wharncliffe Rd. S., London, ON, N6J 2M3 in accordance with the following schedules: 

Ticket Sales Launch – Wednesday, July 15, 2026 (9:00 am EDT)

Ticket Sales Close – Tuesday, August 11, 2026 (11:59 pm EDT)

Main Prize Draw – Wednesday, August 12, 2026 (12:00 pm EDT)

6.    PURCHASING RAFFLE TICKETS

Tickets may be purchased as follows: 

•    10 Numbers for $10

•    40 Numbers for $20

•    120 Numbers for $40

There is no limit to the number of Raffle Tickets an individual may purchase. After buying, patrons will be provided by the sellers, a receipt with their registered numbers from the electronic raffle system (Rafflebox). No specific numbers can be given as they are issued in sequence of order. Individuals are solely responsible for ensuring that they receive the correct ticket denomination and solely responsible for the handling of the purchased ticket after the System has issued the ticket. 

7.    PERSONAL INFORMATION 

All personal information required in the Application Form to participate in the Raffle, enter a Draw, or purchase a Raffle Ticket (including your name and contact information) is collected by BBBSOLA, the System Provider and Payment Processor for the purposes of administering the Raffle and as otherwise set out herein, on the Website, and on the respective Payment Processor and System Provider websites. In addition, any such personal information collected may be used by BBBSOLA for the following purposes: to comply with legal, regulatory, and audit requirements; for communicating with participants; for announcing winners; for awarding Prizes; for disclosure of insider wins for public scrutiny; for the posting of Prize wins on the Website or other Foundation platforms for an extended period of time’ and for BBBSOLA internal business purposes. By providing your information, you consent to it being used for these purposes.

8.    SELECTION OF WINNING NUMBER

Upon the conclusion of the Main Prize Draw Period, the winning Number (the "Winning Number") will be selected using a Random Number Generation ("RNG") system from all Numbers sold for that Draw. The Main Prize draw will take place at Big Brothers Big Sisters of London and Area, 415 Wharncliffe Rd. S., London, ON, N6J 2M3. The winning numbers will be updated on the lottery landing page and on the Big Brothers Big Sisters of London and Area website and social media platforms. 

9.    PRIZE CLAIM 

Winners may claim their prize by contacting the Manager, Finance and Administration of Big Brothers Big Sisters of London and Area at 519-438-7065 x 215. Winners will be paid by cheque. The winning ticket holder has six months to claim their prize from the date of the draw their ticket was purchased for. The winner must provide their name, address, and phone number with picture identification for our report sheet. Once the certified winner is verified, and provides identification with photo ID, they will be given a cheque in the amount of the declared prize which is, at minimum, 50 percent of the total sales for that draw (or other prize type details). If the winner cannot provide photo ID, then the winning proceeds will be held until such identification can be provided. In the event that no winner comes forward, the winning number will be kept on file in a secure location and held for six months. After that time period has elapsed, the prize will be donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters of London and Area, with the approval of the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).

10.    RAFFLE TICKETS ARE NOT TAX DEDUCTIBLE

Under current applicable law, amounts paid for chances to participate in raffles, lotteries, or similar programs are not gifts and, therefore, the price of the entry does not qualify as a deductible charitable contribution.

11.    GOVERNING LAW

The Raffle and these Official Rules shall be subject to and governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario. If a court of competent jurisdiction finds that any provision of these Official Rules, or their application to a particular person or circumstance, is invalid or unenforceable to any extent, then the remainder of these Official Rules shall remain enforceable to the fullest extent permitted by law.
