Hunger doesn't just take place elsewhere – it happens in our own backyard. Job loss, disability, leaving an abusive relationship or underemployment are just a few reasons which may force a person to utilize our Food Bank. The Food Bank is a pillar within our community and provides other forms of support than just food to people facing an urgent need as is evidenced by the variety of programs that we offer.

We have now reached the point that we are running out of space. This means we cannot always accept the bulk donations from the food sharing program through Food Banks Alberta which in turn increases our costs as we have to shop for these items. This lack of space also inhibits our ability to offer other services related to food insecurity as well as optimizing use of our volunteer base in that any more than four people (staff, volunteers, clients, donors) in our current location creates uncomfortable congestion.

We are currently fundraising for a new facility that will allow us to continue to offer the social programs that support individuals and families through Food Hampers, the Backpack Program, the Good Food Box, Meals on Wheels, Bread and Extras, and Adopt A Family. We also support our local schools by providing food and funds to assist students who go to school hungry.

The winner will be drawn at our Golf Tournament on September 6 at 9:15 pm.
