Saskatoon Royals Baseball zone, Saskatoon’s city wide, all female baseball zone, in partnership with Baseball Saskatoon will be hosting this event. We have volunteers from our community assisting to make this event happen. Many of our volunteers have previous experience hosting or attending other Baseball Canada national events. As the hosts, we hope our current membership will be inspired by this event and their families will be in attendance to see what’s possible when these athletes continue to pursue being a part of women in baseball. It’s a great opportunity for male and female athletes to see what’s happening for women in Baseball.
Since 1964, the Baseball Canada Championships have attracted some of the best baseball talent from across the country. Canadian ball players have enjoyed experiences that will last a lifetime and Canadian cities have displayed their world class hosting talents year after year.
The U16 Girls Baseball National Championship aims to empower young female athletes, fostering gender inclusivity in sports. By providing a platform for U16 girls, it encourages wider participation in having opportunities in baseball while breaking stereotypes. This project not only promotes physical activity but also cultivates teamwork, leadership, community involvement from each teams hometown or province and promotes confidence. The championship's impact extends beyond the field, positively influencing the community by promoting diversity, equality, and a healthier lifestyle among the youth, giving positive role models for younger female athletes to look up to and see the potential for themselves.
We promote baseball participation as an agent of positive social development. Hosting this event for female athletes a great opportunity to showcase the belief, hard work, talent, skill and effort put forth from not just the local athletes, but young women from across the country, for individuals outside their families to see what is possible for women in sport. We believe this is another way of uniting communities in peaceful cooperation and respect for the common love of a sport, and respect for young female athletes.
