The Rotary Club of Red Deer Sunrise and The Westerner Days Fair & Exhibition have teamed up to provide an exciting raffle prize during the fair while raising significant funds for community organizations.

The Rotary Club of Red Deer Sunrise is a service club that has fun and gets things done under the umbrella of Rotary International, which is a worldwide network of 1.4 million people of action who tackle the most persistent problems in our communities while building professional and leadership skills through meaningful connections. The sunrise club meets every second Wednesday at 7 AM.

The Westerner Days Fair & Exposition is Central Alberta's largest annual summer celebration with five days of top-quality, authentic, action-packed entertainment! This event has everything that people are looking for in summer festivities – live entertainment, midway rides, free entertainment, nightly Pony Chuckwagon Races, good food and great company!

Recent Club Projects:
Our work begins in our own community.
· Access for All Wheelchair Accessible Playground at Mattie McCullough Elementary School in Red Deer ($500,000)
· Camp Waskaway, a collaboration with Youth HQ and Boys & Girls Club, to develop a new leadership camp for youth ages 13 – 17 in Central Alberta ($15,000)
· Mel Stevenson Art Student Scholarships awarded each year in Red Deer High Schools ($1,400)
· Several local groups; Ronald McDonald House, Youth HQ, Canadian Ski Patrol - Red Deer, Westerner Foundation, Care for Newcomers, Habitat for Humanity, The Lending Cupboard, Family Services of Central Alberta, and Team Alex have shared more than $26,000 over the last two years through commission ticket sales.

· An additional $33,000 has been raised that the Rotary Club of Red Deer Sunrise has invested into central Alberta groups through grants and putting towards a yet to be announced major project.
