Thank you for entering the Revelstoke District Health Foundation’s 50/50 cash raffle. Proceeds from this fundraiser will be directed towards the purchase of a new ultrasound machine (Philips Elite EPIQ Dual) capable of doing regular ultrasound and also echocardiography (echocardiogram) scans. The closest echocardiography machine to Revelstoke currently is in Salmon Arm. During an average year 400-500 patients are sent out of town for echocardiography scans. The purchase of the new ultrasound will also result in the hiring of an additional sonographer. There is only one sonographer currently in Revelstoke doing regular ultrasounds. This added capacity will result in shorter wait times, coverage for vacations/emergency and redundancy for regular ultrasounds should a unit go down. There is also opportunity to provide the service to other communities. Ie. Nakusp, Golden, etc.

Total cost for the ultrasound is approximately $250,000. The Revelstoke District Health Foundation is targeting summer of 2025 to raise the sufficient funds to make the purchase. Many thanks for your support to provide Revelstoke with this important diagnostic equipment.
