Thank you for entering the Revelstoke District Health Foundation’s 50/50 cash raffle. Proceeds from this fundraiser will be directed towards the purchase of a new ultrasound machine (Philips Elite EPIQ Dual) capable of doing regular ultrasound and also echocardiography (echocardiogram) scans. The closest echocardiography machine to Revelstoke currently is in Salmon Arm. During an average year 400-500 patients are sent out of town for echocardiography scans. The purchase of the new ultrasound will also result in the hiring of an additional sonographer. There is only one sonographer currently in Revelstoke doing regular ultrasounds. This added capacity will result in shorter wait times, coverage for vacations/emergency and redundancy for regular ultrasounds should a unit go down. There is also opportunity to provide the service to other communities. Ie. Nakusp, Golden, etc.

Total cost for the ultrasound is approximately $250,000. The campaign kicked off on Giving Tuesday Dec 3/24 and by day's end the total was over $180,000. It was an amazing week of generosity and by Dec 6/24 the $250,000 had been attained. The Revelstoke Health Foundation wishes to express it's sincere gratitude to all the donors and supporters. Given that 50/50 sales will continue until end of day Jan 3/26 any surplus proceeds will be designated towards future purchases for Queen Victoria Hospital's imaging department.
