Did you know that it is estimated that up to 10% of the population has a specific learning disorder (disability), that impacts their academic progress in reading, writing and mathematics?
Many students go through school struggling, not understanding that they have a learning disorder/disability and that it can drastically impact their future schooling and self-esteem.
In response to this, our school was established by parents who wanted a school that would meet the needs of their children diagnosed with learning disabilities.
Edmonton Academy opened its doors to the first group of students in September 1983. For more than three decades, Edmonton Academy has been offering programming accessible and designed for students with learning disabilities.
A learning disorder/disability is often overlooked and known as an “invisible handicap”. Our programming allows students who are statistically at risk of failure or falling behind, the opportunity to reach their full academic potential.
Edmonton Academy Society for Learning Disabled (operating as Edmonton Academy) is a registered charitable organization and operates as a registered not-for-profit Society in Alberta.
We are pleased to have our alumni family; The Friesen’s of BF Farms Inc. once again generously donate a ½ side of beef from their family farm, valued at $1,500, to raffle in support of Edmonton Academy.
Your support of this raffle gives our students and school the “helping hand” we need to offer our unique programming to students in need.

EDMONTON ACADEMY SOCIETY FOR LEARNING DISABLED RAFFLE RULES
1. Players must reside in Alberta, 18 years or older, and use a major credit card, Visa Debit or MasterCard Debit. Credit cards used for payment must have an Alberta Address.
2. Tickets will be available online and sold at a rate of:
- 1 for $10 – 30 packages available
- 3 for $20 – 130 packages available
- 10 for $50 – 36 packages available
- 30 for $100 – 28 packages available
3. Ticket sales will end on January 22, 2021 at 11:59PM with the draw taking place at the Edmonton Academy 2-810 Saddleback Road Edmonton.
4. The winner will receive a 1/2 side of beef, valued at $1,500.
5. The winner will be determined by a random draw. The winner will be contacted by phone and email. The winner has 90 days to claim their prize, a second draw from the same numbers will occur after 90 days if the prize goes unclaimed.
6. Draw results will be announced on Facebook, as well as emailed to our players and participating organizations.
7. By playing you consent to having your name and winning numbers published.
8. The person(s) drawing the winning number must not hold a ticket for that draw. Volunteers and family members not involved in the draw are eligible to participate.
