Hockey for Horizon is a charity hockey game put on by Easter Seals Alberta, in partnership with John Barlow, MP Foothills.

This event includes the unique opportunity for individuals to fundraise to help send a person with a disability to camp and play in a celebrity hockey game alongside NHL Alumni and local celebrities. The event will include an opportunity to meet campers, learn about Camp Horizon, and other cool activities. Following the game, participants are invited to gather at Hard Knox Brewery in Diamond Valley to celebrate the day. At the post-game event, we will be holding a silent auction to raise further funds for Camp Horizon, in addition to the funds raised in the Gift of Flight raffle for WestJet tickets.

Located just outside of Bragg Creek, Camp Horizon offers accessible high ropes, ziplines, giant swing, rafting, adaptive bikes, unique campsites, yurts and fireside adventures. Campers grow connections while exploring the outdoors and leave each summer empowered through self-confidence while their caregivers receive a week of respite support.

The vision for the game is to ensure people with disabilities have a safe space where they can be themselves. Being included is not the same as finding a place you truly belong. Camp Horizon is a place where kids with disabilities can be themselves – to be ‘Joe’ instead of ‘the guy in the wheelchair.’

All money raised will go towards Easter Seals Alberta’s Camp Horizon, a life-changing place for children and adults with disabilities and medical conditions. Together we are hoping to raise $50,000 to subsidize the cost for 25 people to experience the magic camp can offer.
