The Dartmouth Seniors' Service Centre's mission is to enhance the well-being and quality of life for older adults living in our community.

The Dartmouth Seniors' Service Centre (DSSC) was established in 1976 by a group of private citizens concerned about the well-being of older adults living in the Dartmouth area. The main thrust of the Centre at the time was to provide leisure activities for older adults. In its 48 years of existence, the DSSC has grown from a two-room drop-in centre to a thriving facility with more than 700 members, Inhouse daily weekly and monthly activities, and we offer many support & outreach services as well. At present, the DSSC acts:

“As a resource, that offers information, assistance with such things as government forms and services. Serves as a referral source for our aging population, professionals, and community agencies so we are all working together to meet the physical, social and emotional needs of our older community members”
