Dance Nova Scotia (Dance NS) is a non-profit, charitable organization dedicated to promoting and supporting dance in all its forms across the province. As the leading advocate for dance in Nova Scotia, we work to connect, educate, and inspire dancers, choreographers, educators, and communities through a variety of programs and initiatives.

Our Mission
Dance Nova Scotia exists to promote, support, and celebrate dance as an integral part of Nova Scotia’s cultural and artistic landscape. We strive to make dance accessible to all, fostering inclusivity, diversity, and artistic excellence.

What We Do
Community Engagement & Outreach: We work with schools, community organizations, and underrepresented groups to ensure dance is accessible to everyone, regardless of age, ability, or background.

Education & Training: We provide professional development opportunities for dancers, educators, and organizations, supporting dance education in schools and communities.

Advocacy & Promotion: As a provincial leader in the arts, we advocate for the recognition and funding of dance while promoting the work of Nova Scotia’s dance artists and companies.

Events & Celebrations: From annual events to workshops and performances, we aim to bring people together to experience the joy and benefits of dance.

Sector Development: We support the sustainability and growth of dance organizations and professionals in Nova Scotia through networking, resources, and funding opportunities.
