The Cochrane Search and Rescue Association, a charity that is dedicated to saving lives, exemplifies its mission through the 65 passionate and dedicated volunteers who last year attended over 31 incidents and contributed over 11,000 hours. We deploy trained personnel and resources for search, rescue, and emergency response while also prioritizing safety, educating the public on emergency preparedness, and survival techniques.

Our operations extend from the foothills to the Rocky Mountains, encompassing vast areas from west of Calgary to Banff in Alberta, Canada.

As our community grows and incidents increase, our need becomes more evident. With more people exploring our expansive wilderness, accidents and individuals becoming lost are on the rise. Many visitors and locals may lack preparation for the challenges posed by our natural environment.

Cochrane Search and rescue has multiple speciality teams within the organization including tracking, ATV, mountain bike, and drone sections. We also respond to numerous natural disasters throughout Alberta such as flooding and wildfires. In addition to searches, Cochrane Search and Rescue is hugely involved in the community and attend multiple volunteer events throughout the year. We are hoping that fundraising efforts from this 50/50 raffle will help us with funding for much needed equipment, supplies, and training courses to better serve Cochrane and the surrounding areas.
