The Battlefords Humane Society provides temporary shelter, medical care, and essential needs for approximately 700 animals each year from the Battlefords and surrounding areas. The Society further provides essential services for our community such as licensing, lost and found, microchipping, education and safe haven accommodation for pets during crisis. Our current facility has been our home for more than 40 years and although it has served us well, it has deteriorated to the point that it si no longer a healthy work environment for staff or living environment for t h e animals.

We are planning our 50-50 online raffle to help raise money for our new building.

Phase 1of our building project, a Boarding facility, is now complete and wil provide pet boarding, grooming a n d daycare. The profits from these services will b e a n essential source of ongoing revenue to help with the running of the new Humane Society Shelter, which is phase 2 of our building project. We are excited to be moving into phase 2, but we need to raise more money for phase 2.

Our Online 50-50 raffle will help us reach our goal of building the new Shelter that we so desperately need to care for the countless animals that come to us each year, and to

continue the important work we do for our community. We rely heavily on fundraising as there is limited municipal funding available to us and there is no funding available on a provincial or federal level for Humane Societies.
