Someone you know may have chronic swelling and not know how to manage it. If it is lymphedema, it progressively gets worse so it needs to be treated early.

The British Columbia Lymphedema Association (BCLA) is a charity run by volunteers whose mission is to promote healthy and hopeful living for people with lymphatic disorders in BC. We advocate for patients with lymphatic disorders to have medical access to early diagnosis, education and compression in all BC health regions. Over 132,000 people in BC are seriously impacted by lymphedema and many of these people find it difficult to get a diagnosis and treatment.

Funds raised by this raffle will be used to create a video/broadcast, “Faces of Lymphedema” to raise awareness of lymphedema and what treatment is available in BC. While there is no cure yet for this disease, there are ways to reduce the progression and minimize impact on daily life.

Do you know what lymphedema is? Probably someone close to you has it and is not aware. It is chronic disease which causes excessive swelling (edema) in any body part due to a buildup of lymph fluid.  This happens when the lymphatic system is either faulty or damaged and cannot function as normal.

You can make a difference while possibly buying a winning ticket.
