Welcome to the CASH FOR KITTENS Cash Lottery in support of the Feral Cat Network Foundation!
Right now our province is in the midst of what has been another overwhelming cat season. Day after day the calls keep coming in, cats, kittens everywhere in need of help. Resources have been depleted and with so many cats in need of homes shelters are over run and experiencing issues with lack of space and adoptions.
The Feral Cat Network currently has nearly 50 felines in care and multiple litters in need of not just food & litter but their upcoming spay & neuter surgeries in the coming weeks and months.
We need help to cover these costs and hope to raise the funds to cover the vet bills of the cats in care with our Cash Lottery!
A little bit about us:
Our mission is to reduce cat overpopulation by providing support and resources to target communities through our TNR program as well as providing care and support to cats in need through our foster homes util they can be ready for adoption.
Many of the cats we intake are unsocialized or partially socialized to humans. Through our TNR programs, we often find many friendly and social cats that have ended up out in the elements fighting for survival through no fault of their own. Many of these cats that come in suffer from illness and in some cases, severe injury that require extensive veterinary care. All cats are cared for in our network of foster homes, receive any veterinary care they need.
The veterinary care provided includes spays, neuters, vaccines, microchips at minimum, but also include emergency veterinary care that can run into the thousands and a single emergency case can empty our bank account. Routine care includes purchasing of food to feed the cats in care and this also includes veterinary prescription diets for cats who require refeeding programs, kidney care or even urinary care. Veterinary costs and food costs make up 80% of our expenditures.
We need your support to help not only the cats we currently have in care, but for the dozens waiting to come in.
